Registration process for grade 8 students
who attend a school from another School Board:
Please complete the online application and submit the paperwork listed below. Please note that receipt of package is not confirmation of registration.
The deadline to register for the 2025-26 school year is
February 14, 2025.
Step 1: Complete Online Registration Form
Step 2: A follow-up email will be sent from SMCSS Guidance Secretary requesting the following information:
Proof of Date of Birth

Passport / Certification of Citizenship)

Direction of Property Taxes Form
Allows people, jointly responsible for the payment of property taxes, either directly through ownership or indirectly through the payment of rent, one of whom must be Catholic, to direct school support to the Catholic system.
First Nation, Métis and Inuit Self-identification Form
All parents/guardians of First Nation, Métis, and Inuit students who are under 18 years of age have the right to voluntarily self-identify. The Board collects this confidential student self-identification data for the purpose of student achievement, determining the success of current programs, and providing information for decision making regarding the support, development and provision of programs and services required to ensure the success of all students.
Step 3: Transition Meeting for students with an IEP
Students with an Individual Education Plan (I.E.P.) will have a transition meeting with our Special Education Resource Teacher, Vice-Principal and Guidance Counsellor to ensure accommodations are in place for a smooth transition to secondary school.
OR Intake meeting for students registering from another secondary school
New secondary school students will have an intake meeting with their VP, Guidance Counsellor and the Special Education Resource Teacher (if required).
Step 4: June Welcome Email (GRADE 8 STUDENTS ONLY)
Guidance will be sending an email out at the beginning of June with important "need to know" information, including instructions on how to opt-in for busing and a list of school uniforms.
