History

The patron saint of the school is known for being the Mother of Jesus. This school's name honours the prominent place of Mary in our Catholic faith. The school was founded in 1984 and has been located at its current site since September 1998.

Did you know that...

  • Breakfast Program: Our school and community recognize the value of a breakfast for proper growth, development and functioning of students. Students arriving without a proper morning meal are encouraged to take advantage of this breakfast program. It runs every Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 8:25 a.m. in the Culinary Foods room 126

St. Mary Catholic Secondary School campus is located on the wooded property along Birchwood Trail in Cobourg about 120 km East of Toronto, in Central Ontario, Canada. St. Mary Catholic Secondary School has been part of the Cobourg community for over 20 years.

Each school day has the following schedule. Bells ring at the beginning and end of each period.

Warning Bell 8:20 A.M. - 8:25 A.M.
Period 1 8:30 A.M. - 9:45 A.M.
Period 2 9:50 A.M - 11:05 A.M.
Period 3  (Gr. 9 & 10) 11:10 A.M. - 12:25 P.M.
Lunch A (Gr. 11 &12) 11:05 P.M. - 11:45 A.M.
Lunch B ( Gr. 9 & 10) 12:25 P.M. - 1:05 P.M.
Period 4 (Gr. 11 & 12)  11:45 A.M. - 1:00 P.M.

Facility Rental

Community groups are welcome to use the St. Mary facilities for appropriate activities, as long as community use does not interfere with our regular school requirements. A user fee will apply to offset costs associated with the use of school property.

St. Mary has the following facilities available to rent:
